  1. The game has been around since 2004. That's 13 years of adventures and drama in the world of Azeroth. It's time for us to gather around the fireplace and hear each other's tales of awe and bravery, from when they created their first character, overwhelmed by the apparent size and beauty of the world, curious, and unaware of what is to come, up to now, when the players' names have appeared in the book of legends as those of war-hardened veterans who've been through fire and sword to protect their planet from various threats. The Scourge, Illidan, The Legion, The Dragonflight, The Sha, all have been banished, but the adventurers behind those acts of heroism are still going strong. What's your World of Warcraft story?
  2. It would appear that I got so involved in the project that I started posting without introducing myself, so, I'm going to fix that now: I am Queeky, an experienced private server user and former manager who recently took up moderator duties on Crestfall. I have been playing this game for years now, and I am glad to be able to consider myself a part of the legacy community, because that allows me to work with (and relate to) people bound by the common goal of reviving the game they all know and love. I discovered Crestfall some time last year via Reddit and decided to follow it, until finally creating an account and being so overwhelmed by the staff & users, that I decided to join its staff. I came here for the project and decided to stay because of the community and the great server Administration who welcomed me in their team. I, alongside the rest of the Moderator team, will be in charge of overseeing the forums and ensuring that the experience remains enjoyable for everyone. You may know me from the other projects I worked on, or you may not, in which case I hope that you will appreciate my presence here and we'll get along well.
  3. Greetings, everyone! I'm going to lock this topic in order to prevent any discussions about questionable services (which may or may not endanger our users' safety) from sparking up. The team is already aware of such WoW-related websites, and methods of combatting them on Crestfall are already being thought of. We understand your concern, and we would like to remind you that we will do anything we can in order to ensure that paid game services will not become a problem. Sincerely, Queeky.
  4. Continuing the trend from this thread, I would like to address you another question, as part of my initiative to bring the users together. Everyone here is bound by the same values: their love for the legacy community, but, everybody has their own story regarding how and when they discovered this community and what made them settle here. What drew you to Crestfall?
  5. Happy birthday!
  6. Welcome, Juggernaut!
  7. Greetings! I'm glad to have you on the forums. Make sure to read through our resources in order to familiarize yourself with the server and community. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions or concerns you'd like us to address! Sincerely, Queeky.
  8. Greetings! I'd like to remind everyone not to derail this forum thread, and instead focus on the main subject, since, as per point 5 in our rules, off-topic posts are subject to deletion. Sincerely, Queeky.
  9. Greetings, and welcome to our forums! As the people before me have said, you could go ahead and try seeing Vanilla for yourself while Crestfall gets closer to its release, however, you should bear in mind that there are many aspects that set Crestfall apart from the other communities and therefore make it a viable place for anyone looking forward to experiencing Vanilla as it was meant to be. Currently, given the vast ammount of people whose interest in Vanilla is growing, there will be people playing on all sorts of servers and expecting all sorts of things from their respective communities, which, in turn, will mean more thriving realms and tight-knit populations, which gives you the possibility to interact with everyone and get a brief overview of each server's aims and expectations. It's better for you to try the servers you have the most interest in before deciding what community to settle in, though I do hope you'll stand by long enough for Crestfall to release and give it a try! Sincerely, Queeky.
  10. Crestfallen, As 2016 is coming to a close, I'd like to take a moment to remind you of all the nice things you've done in World of Warcraft during your stay in Azeroth. Whether you were a fabled roleplayer whose emote skills were unmatched, or the best PvPer of all, there is bound to be something that you like the most about this game. What is it, why do you like it, and what interesting things do you have to share about your WoW passion? Whatever it is, we'd love to hear your stories!
  11. Greetings! I went ahead and moved this to the "Technical & Support" section, as you're more likely to get appropriate answers regarding your future Mac concerns there. Sincerely, Queeky.
