Outstanding

PvE Community Spirit - Helpful Tips

Greetings <name>

So I'll be brief in case I get accused of spamming threads/posts again. ¬¬ Now that we have our PvE community up and running the important thing is to make it grow and prosper.

To do that we need positive activity.  I don't expect the forum populations to expand until open Beta, in conjunction with the devs actively promoting the server.

So in the meantime it's up to us to contribute to our section of the forums and keep a healthy discussion going. This requires people to start threads of their own on relevant WoW topics.

So don't be shy, and if you feel uncomfortable starting threads then you can just post or ask questions.

I'll start the ball rolling...I only saw this about 10 minutes ago. Never knew about it until I saw the link and video. This is for all you Night Elves that take the corpse run through Wetlands/Dun Morogh.

Can't see this being an exploit. Credit for this goes to Overtime formerly of Nostalrius....

If anyone else wants to add their tips or experience, please be my guest and post hereafter

/salute

Outstanding post as always mate...

Surprised you didn't know about that shortcut! You can do a similar thing swimming North East from Darkshore, drowning and ressing in either Moonglade or Winterspring.

When i first tried wow, like back in 2004/2005 on a private server, me and my friend tried a ..."shortcut", swimming from Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor. Basically, nothing worked back then, not even fatigue, aaaand our attempt for this "shortcut" ended up finding an end of the world and ofc we swam right there and fell down forever. End of that char as it was not possible to log back to it anymore.

What a cruel end for two curious travelers :[ Those chars are still probably falling down right there lol

My biggest tip, dont ever be an arsehole in vanilla... theres no cross-server, so this is a close knit community. Wether you are level 5 or 55, you can always make friends wich you can play with for a realy long time.

This is what appeals to me the most about playing here. You need to actually interact with others to progress and you have the opportunity to build a reputation for yourself. There's no insta LFD groups who don't say a single word to each other. I can make a bunch of friends from one run and remember them/be remembered if needed down the road. Nothing feels better to me than logging in to 3/4/5 whispers asking if I'd like to come help a group accomplish something. (Probably my healer/support weakness, I enjoy feeling needed or that people actually want me around lol.)

My tip - Bags! We all need 'em...

Alliance Quests:

Old Blanchy's Feed Pouch (4 Slot) http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=1537 - Quest Reward from Poor Old Blanchy, Westfall - Handy if your 6 slot drop rate hasn't been kind

Wizbang's Gunnysack (6 Slot) http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=2082 - Quest Reward from Buzzbox 525, Darkshore - Not a great size for a long chain but if you've been unlucky on those slot drops and don't mind running.

Captain Sander's Booty Bag (8 Slot) - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=3343 - Quest Reward from Captain Sander's Hidden Treasure, Westfall - Like Buzzbox, long chain and requires a random drop but if you need the Xp...

Gunnysack of the Night Watch (10 Slot) - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=1729 - Quest Reward from the Night Watch, a very decent chain, Duskwood - Be careful of your choice if you're a hunter, in which case go for the ammo/arrow slot

Ooze Covered Bag (10 Slot) - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=3352 - Quest Reward from Digging Through the Ooze, Wetlands

Horde Quests:

Handmade Leather Bag ( 4 Slot) - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=11845 - Quest Reward from Carry Your Weight, Durotar

Deviate Hide Pack (10 Slot) - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=918 - Dungeon Quest Reward from Deviate Hides, Wailing Caverns, Barrens

(Poor horde, unless I'm missing something they don't get much in the way of bag space!)

Both:

Explorer's Knapsack (14 Slot) - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=11324 - Quest Reward from Cortello's Riddle, STV. Starts on the pirate boats in South STV, long chain but can be bundled in with quests that take you to Swamp of Sorrows, Dustwallow March and Hinterlands.

And if you have the cash to splash, vendors:

hmm, I never minded getting the Loch Modan flight path along the way.

plus, as a herbalist you can plunder the goblin(it might be a gnome or dwarf) vendor in the middle of Wetlands for some herbs.

great tip nonetheless!

edit: typo's.. I need a new phone..

That Night Elf thing is something I could probably use when speedrunning, making me skip going to the loch and doing the one lvl 18/19 quest there and instead doing them on the way back could be interesting. Although, I'd haft to swim, so it'd probably be slower, sadly.

My tip, Rogues, get your lockpicking skill up early. You need to be at least 75 skill to do your level 20 Class Quest which gives you poisons.

Alliance:

1-75 - Redridge, Althers Mill
75-110 - Westfall Class Quest Chest
110-150 - Wetlands, Bluegill Murloc Marsh
150-200 - Desolace, Sar'theris Strand
200-250 - Searing Gorde, Slag Pit
250-275 - Tanaris, Lost Rigger Cove
275-300 - Eastern Plaguelands, Tyr's Hand.

Horde:

1-70 - Barrens, Merchants Coast (Ship)
70-120 - Barrens, Sludge Fen
120-150 - Wetlands, Bluegill Murloc Marsh
150-200 - Desolace, Sar'theris Strand
200-225 - Swamp of Sorrows, Pool of Tears
225-275 - Tanaris, Lost Rigger Cove
275-300 - Eastern Plaguelands, Tyr's Hand.
